Based on their profile type, reinforcing steel bars (rod-shaped, GOST 5781-82, GOST P 52544-2006 ) used for reinforcement are divided as follows:

· Plain;

· Deformed profile (ribbed).

Depending on their mechanical characteristics, reinforcing rods are classified into: AI (A240), AII(A300), AIII(A400), AIV(A600), AV(A800), AVI(A1000).

Steel reinforcing rods of class:

· AI –plain;

· AII, AIII, AIV – deformed profile

Index is added with:

· “”- for heat-treated (hardened) reinforcing steel;

· “” - for hard-drawn.

Deformed reinforcing bar is a round bar with two longitudinal and transverse projections.

Certain steel grades are specified for each class of hot-rolled reinforcing bars:

· AI (A240) - 3(, );

· AII(A300) - 5() , 182;

· AIII(A400) - 35, 252, 500, 400, 322 ;

· AIV(A600) - 80C, 202;

· AV(A800) - 2322;

· AVI(A1000) - 2222, 2222, 2022.

Thermo-mechanically treated (hardened) reinforcing steel of A400C and A500C grades is produced by the West Siberian Metallurgical Plant (ZSMK) on the basis of 3 and is a substitute of 35, 252 steels.

Thermo-mechanically and heat-treated deformed steel reinforcing rods with 6-40 mm diameter are used for construction of critical concrete structures – so called “termnichka” GOST 10884-81 .

According to this standard the below listed grades of steel are used to fabricate reinforcing bars:

· III - 5(, ) ;

· IV, AIV, AIV - 20, 252, 35, 28, 102, 082, 252;

· V( ) - 20, 202, 082, 102, 28, 252, 35, 252, 202;

· VII - 302.

Letters shown in class index of these reinforcing bars stand for the following:

· “k” – increased resistance to stress corrosion cracking

· “c” – weldable.

Minimum size of reinforcing bar of any class is 6 (mm), maximum – 80 (mm); any smaller or greater sizes are fabricated by manufacturer only on special request.

Size of deformed reinforcing bar (ribbed) fits the diameter of rebar plain section.

Steel rods

Carbon steel wire rods of common quality used to redraw to wire and other applications are produced as per GOST 535-88. Dimensions of steel wire rods shall conform to GOST 30136-95.

Steel wire rods are fabricated of common quality carbon steel of C0, C1, C2, C3 grades with all deoxidation degrees as per GOST380-94 (chemical composition).

As for cooling method, steel wire rods can be:

· Air-cooled (BO)

· Subject to one –stage 01 or two-stage 02 accelerated cooling.

Steel wire rods are fabricated with the following rolling accuracy:

· – high accuracy;

· –standard accuracy

Steel wire rods are fabricated of such diameters as 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, 6.3, 6.5, 7.0, 8.0 and 9.0 in coils consisting of one continuous piece of steel. By the agreement with a customer it is possible to fabricate steel wire rods with diameter over 9 mm in coils. Diameters of steel wire rods, maximum deviations relative to diameter, cross-section area and mass of one meter shall conform to 14-15-212-89.
